Did ramen come from Japan or Korea?
Ramen (pronounced 'rah-myun' in Korean) was invented in Japan. Some people say it originally came from China and the Japanese took the idea from the Chinese.
Because of the shortage of rice in the 60s, the Korean government encouraged people to consume ramen instead of rice. Now there are all kinds of Korean ramen in the market. (Most of them cost between 50 cents to a dollar.) Typically, Korean ramens are more flavored and definitely spicier than Japanese ramens.
